The golden egg, the magic object of desire, the shapeless
nameless thing... Creating a useless pretty object, I imagined it in different
environments, both fictional and real. Placing it in different contexts,
I wanted to suggest the banality of things and also how we, as a society,
can ignore the infiltration of manmade, sometimes subtly harmful substances.
What we put in our mouths, what types of buildings we allow to shape are
reality, what we marvel at. Who creates and determines these things? And
how do we assign value and meaning to them, if we even do this at all?
For this exhibition I created a series of digital photographs and also
a supplemental installation with collage of popular magazine images, wallpaper
and plastic objects. |
